  • Responsibilities

    • Research, plan, design, implement, scale and support a variety of optical technologies, using software including but not limited to, FRED and Photon Design tools like FIMMWAVE, OMNISIM, PICWAVE, HAROLD etc.
    • Create a strong network within the industry by actively participating in the international exhibitions that the company attends.
    • Participate in R&D, QA, test, production and technical support.
    • Troubleshoot the setups and systems and do root cause failure analysis & stray light analysis.
    • Direct and conduct experiments as needed to support design efforts.
    • Evaluate designs with numerical simulations and comparison with test data.
    • Work on issues of integrating optics with other subsystems.
    • Document the results and present them to cross-functional teams.
    • Design, conduct, and report results for the tests requested by customers.
    • Develop low-loss high-performance optical components.
    • Perform FDTD or Tracing simulations as needed to create next-generation optical devices and systems.
    • For blogs and webinars, provide educational content that is relevant to the optics and photonics industry.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Physics (with a specialization in Optics, or Photonics)
  • Experience Requirements

    • 2+ years of hands-on industrial experience
    • Experience with optical system test and measurements techniques
  • Additional Requirements

    • Details-oriented, excellent analytical skills, and troubleshooting capabilities.
    • Knowledge of optical simulation software like FRED and Photon Design
    • Excellent knowledge of optics lab setups and environments
    • Knowledge of materials for optical systems
    • Must be eligible to work in Canada
